Procedure
The KAL application and joining process is summarized below:
-
Register on the KAL-CCL website
-
Fill in your personal details and upload your flight experience summary
-
CCL will review this and work with you to ensure all sections are completed correctly
-
If you are successful in the pre screening process you will be able to apply for interviews
-
Part of the preparation for the interview will be completing and returning an application package, which we will assist you with to ensure you are presented to KAL in the best possible light
-
KAL will then process all applications received for each interview as it comes up
-
KAL will provide us with a list of selected applicants for the next interviews. You will be informed of the selection immediately (an initial non selection may still result in an interview at a later date, there can be a lack of sim availability for example)
-
Selected applicants will need to provide additional documents, CCL will work with you to present a full application for the interview
-
CCL will arrange travel and accommodation in Korea for the screening, (taxes on tickets will be reimbursed upon joining the line)
-
Prior to your arrival in Korea, CCL will provide you with detailed information to ensure you are best prepared, such as transportation details within Korea, simulator profiles, Korean culture tips, examples of the interview process and questions, etc.
-
Upon arrival in Korea a meeting will be arranged with a current CCL pilot to discuss the process and answer any questions (done when possible)
-
The 4 day screening in Seoul (ICN) includes SIM, medical, psychological test and interview. CCL will work with you through each step of this process.
-
Return flights on KAL are provided to all pilot candidates invited for an interview and screening (Taxes on tickets will be refunded by CCL upon successful completion of training)
-
Screening results are generally released within a few weeks, the next step is to arrange a suitable joining date (joining classes are normally held each month)
-
Non type rated applicants will need to arrange their new type rating and CCL will coordinate a suitable joining date with KAL
-
License documentation and joining flights will be arranged before the commencement of training. The training process takes approximately 4-5 months before check-out to line operations
CCL has assisted & provided more successful applicants to KAL than any other agency. We are aware of most of the pitfalls and common errors that applicants can make and will brief you thoroughly at each step to increase your chances of passing.
